Tellison and TubelordThe Borderline, August 7th 2008
Tubelord sound like K-Town kids trying to play Cap'n Jazz and failing in the most beautiful way; their thrash attack is driven by machine drums and the rage that comes with looking like a bunch of females.
Given the profligacy of eighteen year-old dickheads in attendance, it seems that DA KIDZ have finally caught wind of a good thing. In other words, some heathen at the NME got the word from the suits upstairs that it's Tellison's turn to have a bash at the pops. Bloody good thing too.
This band are good news. Crash landing into old rip snorter Reader, SHD and co. blast a hole in the ozone layer wide enough to turn The Borderline into a sub-tropical mass of sing-a-longs, hand claps, good times and wide smiles. We got that PMA.
Most of these tunes are a couple of years old now, but as Ambulance, New York..., Gallery et al wash over you it dawns; it's OKAY. People REALISE. Amazing songs are amazing songs, and no matter that the squares have only just caught on. The good will out.
Tellison for PM.
Four donks.
